Anywho... DSL is shared just the same as any other &quot;internet&quot; connection...&lt;br /&gt;

The idea of getting a dedicated connection clear to the backbone is a farse... big one to!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
You may have a dedicated connection to the POP, or the box on the side of the road somewhere... but from there, agregation of links occur, and you as well as the rest of the oversold customers get sent down the same, bandwidth pipe to the CO, which then may not even have &quot;backbone&quot; connectivity... they may be L3 or below even...&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
DSL frequently has equal, or more hops on a network than cable... &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Neither technology is that far removed from each other on the back end, the only major difference is the medium through which it travels, and the lengths of transmission degredation....&lt;br /&gt;

		<description>ummmm you get a max 2.5 meg connection with DSL, which you will only get if you are right next to the Central Office.  If you are more than 10k feet you cant even get close to that speed.  Even with repeaters its still going to suck.  Fact of the matter is, cable is better and faster.</description>
